The organizing committee of the 2018 Symposium on mines and the environment is making the most of its schedule to offer varied and interesting mine visits. Clothes and protective gear (glasses, hats, and boots) will be provided onsite.

Goldcorp is proud to host the Symposium participants in its facilities at the Eleonore mine. The tour includes travel by charter plane, a tour of the surface installations of the mine, and lunch.

Iamgold is partnering with the Symposium to offer a possibility to visit underground infrastructure at their Westwood operation. Visit will continue on surface in the afternoon, for a complete view over Iamgold environmental management practices. Bus transportation and lunch provided.

Agnico Eagle will welcome participants at their LZ5 project currently under development for an underground tour complemented by a visit on surface. Surface tour will include tailings management area and water treatment, including a peak on Agnico Eagle’s responsible management approach. Bus transportation and lunch provided.

Cobalt mining camp is where we started developing our hardrock mining expertise in Canada. The tour will focus on history of the place and offer a great opportunity to learn about the environmental legacy of mining in this region and reclamation. Bus transportation and lunch provided. Good walking boots are required for short hiking in the woods. Bring your insect repellent!
